The GenderFail Archive Project

invites artists, curators, librarians, activists and other engaged publics to pick through our collection of art books, zines and publications to help decide which works are archived.

These publications will be presented on displays commissioned from artists to present the works selected through the project as a mobile library. Artists Colin Klockner, Hallie McNeill, Evan Galbicka, Jordan Loeppky-Kolesnik and grace whiteside were selected because of the design functionality built into their studio practice. In collaborations with each artist, we come up with a design that reflects their personal aesthetic while envisioning how the finished work can also become a functional display object. Each collaboration is mediated through conversations that happen throughout the process of making. These works have been displayed in exhibitions at Sediment Arts in Richmond, VA and The International Center of Photography in New York City.
